Virtuozzo Linux 8 Beta Is Here: We Are Replacing Our CentOS Servers with It, Shouldn’t You?

| February 12, 2021 | Company, VzLinux | , ,

Virtuozzo’s world-class engineering team has been hard at work, and we are proud to release our free version of Virtuozzo Linux (VzLinux) 8. (Download here)

Virtuozzo is known for consistently building best in class versions based on our 1:1 binary fork of Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 build and configuration.

For years, VzLinux has been a base Operating System for OpenVz and our commercial products. We are so confident with our new version that we are currently switching over 200+ CentOS servers in our internal operations to VzLinux. We believe in drinking our own champagne!

Like all successful organizations, we rely on our partners and community for input and have received great feedback from some early adopters like Jelastic and are looking forward to getting more feedback.

To make sure we address any bugs, please post any that you come across in our Jira project at https://bugs.openvz.org/projects/VZL

Please let us know what your thoughts are and what should be in our future releases by submitting input via our product feedback form.

As most of you already know, Virtuozzo is a commercial company whose platforms are built on open source, and our developers all contribute to and work with open-source software. If you want to find out more about our contributions and some of our consortiums we have founded, please visit  https://www.virtuozzo.com/company/open-source/

We want to thank all of you that contribute so generously with your thoughts and input; keep it coming!
