Unlike other PaaS and IaaS on the market, Jelastic does not require you to select the machine size and pay for it. Instead, Jelastic dynamically allocates resources instantaneously scaling application servers up and down, and making sure that they have the resources that they need. With Jelastic you pay for your actual resource consumption, not the instance size. But today we would like to give a few simple pieces of advice on how to save even more money.
1. We have already told you about application lifecycle management in Jelastic. So if you happen to be using your environment as a test or dev environment and you don't use it on nights and weekends - you can save that money! You don't have to pay for the hours that you don't use.
You can stop your dev or test environments when you don't work with them.
2. Within your settings you can chose your scalability limits - and thus effectively put caps on the budget you are ready to spend.
3. Also you can simply track your spending.
You can see the amount of consumed HDD, RAM, CPU and Network Bandwidth according to each container by clicking on the Statistics button of the desired node.
In the Billing history within your dashboard you can find the cost of previously consumed resources during the stated period.
